Jewelry: Star Beads

Those of you who don’t know me (Ty) may not realize this, but I don’t actually do beadwork. I leave that to Jerynn – he’s utterly amazing at it. So for me to have done this necklace – and I did, start to finish, only requiring Jerynn’s help with the clasps – is pretty flabbergasting.

I made this necklace for Hethert-Nut, Egyptian goddess of the sky, the Heavenly Cow. The purple beads glitter as though full of stars – the gold beads are each a little different from each other and are that particular shade of gold that She seems to love. The pendant was a gift from some beloved friends years ago; it’s Blue John, a special kind of fluorite only found in Derbyshire in the UK.
